Time Warner Cable Tunes In Slacker
Time Warner Cable has added the Slacker Internet music service to its new Web portal, TWC Central, that’s available to more than 11 million high-speed Internet subscribers.
TWC is offering access to Slacker’s lineup of curated streaming radio stations and an on-demand library of more than 13 million songs at http://twcc.slacker.com. Slacker offers a free, ad-supported service, plus two subscription tiers: Slacker Premium ($9.99 per month) and Slacker Plus ($3.99 per month).
Slacker, a service founded in 2010 that offers a mix of services found in online music services such as Pandora and Spotify, also has billing and distribution deals with major mobile providers, including Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular.
The deal adds a new music component to TWC Central, the MSO’s customer portal for news, entertainment, information, social networking, and access to Time Warner Cable products and services.
