Michael Patrick King, producer of Home Box Office’s Sex and the City, put the kibosh on the idea of a feature film, AP reported.
"Nothing we did in the series was altered to save something for the movie," King told AP at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colo. "This is exactly the way we wanted to end the series. We're proud of what we did."
The last original episode of Sex aired on HBO Feb. 22. The series is headed for syndication.
