Rodriguez Has 'The Conversation' With Coppola

El Rey Network's series The Director's Chair hosts Academy Award-winning director Francis Ford Coppola on March 2, with network founder and chairman Robert Rodriguez, a noted director in his own right, interviewing him about his legacy and the world of filmmaking.

Coppola reveals his reticence to direct both The Godfather and The Godfather: Part II films; offers new insight into the well documented struggles on the set of Apocalypse Now; his early inspirations; and how he managed to work within the Hollywood system.

Following the one-hour interview, El Rey Network airs its premiere of Coppola's The Conversation (1974), starring Gene Hackman as a government agent caught in a quandary over his surveillance assignment. Coppola wrote, directed and produced the film, which won the Palme d'Or at the 1975 Cannes Film Festival.
