Tony Maddox was promoted to executive vice president and managing director of CNN International.
Maddox had been senior VP of news operations.
In his new role, he will oversee the programmer’s portfolio, including five English-language channels; CNN en Español; CNNj; CNN.com International; CNNArabic.com; joint ventures CNN+, CNN-IBN and CNN Turk; and international newsgathering, editorial and programming oversight.
Maddox joined CNN in 1998 as managing editor for the organization’s Europe, Middle East and Africa coverage.
