Lois Curren

TITLE: Executive Vice President, MTV Series Development

WHY WE'RE WATCHING: If you're young (and we'd like to think we are at heart), it's hard to imagine not being touched by MTV programming produced and/or developed by Curren. Try some of these shows on for size: The Osbournes, Till Death Do Us Part: Carmen & Dave, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica and The Ashlee Simpson Show. As MTV moves toward year-round originals in its “10 Spot,” Curren's certainly doing her part.

SCORE ON 2004: “A huge success has been our working relationships with celebrities — everyone from Jessica Simpson to Ashton Kutcher — MTV became their home and creative outlet. Another was the cultural phenomenon that was Pimp My Ride, which quickly became the No. 1 MTV show around the globe. And Newlyweds continues to defy the odds — the show recently won the People's Choice Award in the 24/7 Reality category.”

WHAT'S NEXT: “My goals for 2005 are to keep creating buzzworthy shows that resonate with our viewers. Shows that reflect their passions, lifestyles, and their music. Recently we have begun projects with Cameron Diaz and Travis Barker of Blink-182 that I think will connect with the MTV audience.”

DRIVE IN 2005: “At MTV, the new and different is expected from us by our audience. By keeping a constant open dialogue with our viewers and taking risks in our programming we will fulfill that promise and hopefully come up with some kick-ass shows.”

EXECUTIVE EVOLUTION: “This is really a non-issue for us at MTV. We are led by one of the coolest, smartest women in the business, Judy McGrath. Her creativity and passion for our audiences, are what inspire and drive everything we do.

AT HOME, AT PLAY: “My hobbies include swimming, horseback riding, road trips with my husband, Chris, and sucking up as much music as possible.”
