Fox News Rolls Over Cable Nets

Fox News was the top choice for cable viewers in primetime last week, according to Nielsen.

The network averaged 2 million viewers during t he week of June 13 to June 19 in winning its second consecutive weekly primetime ratings race, said Nielsen. HGTV finished a distant second with 1.5 million viewers, followed by TBS with 1.3 million, and Disney Channel, USA Network and TNT, all tied with 1.2 million viewers.

Discovery Channel and History (tied with 1.1 million viewers), along with ESPN (1 million) and MSNBC (972,000) rounded out the top 10 most watched networks for the week.

Fox News and Nickelodeon tied for the top spot on a total day basis with 1.2 million viewers each, followed by Adult Swim, Disney Channel and Cartoon Network.

TBS was king among adults 18-49, while Disney Channel finished first among tweens aged 6-11, said the network.
