Actor Dennis Haysbert and Discovery Channel are taking a dive.
The network will air one-hour original world-premiere special Secrets of Pearl Harbor Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 8 p.m. (EST/PST).
During the special, Haysbert -- best-known for his role as the president of the United States on Fox’s 24 --will dive 160 feet below the surface of the Pacific Ocean and become the first civilian to dive to one of the five Japanese midget submarines that were sent to sink U.S. battleships in the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The midget submarine's position is known only to the U.S. Navy/Park Service and the Department of State, Discovery said.
