Look for an avalanche of research reports about the shifting broadband environment and viewing preferences, especially those of fickle young audiences.
The Amdocs survey of cord-cutters released on the opening day of the Cable Show is the harbinger of this spring's bumper crop of analyses from vendors.
And doing the research must be getting harder. Arris, which previewed its analysis during an Imagine Park "quiz show," said it study will be out about May 21, slightly later than intended. Cisco will publish its annual Visual Networking Index by mid-June, about a week behind its initial plan.
The new studies -- like the scores of other research reports cited throughout the Cable Show -- will inevitably add to the cacophony of useful, and occasionally contradictory, outlooks affecting business decisions.
