VH1, Freeform Acquire `The Mindy Project’ Episodes

VH1 and Freeform have acquired rights to the first five seasons of The Mindy Project as part of a deal between the networks and NBCUniversal.

The series, created and starring Mindy Kaling, will appear on both VH1 and Freeform as well as their respective online apps beginning in October, said network officials. The fifth season of The Mindy Project will air on Hulu beginning Oct. 4.

The Mindy Project previously aired on Fox broadcasting network.
