CNN continues to remake the executive ranks for its morning programming block, promoting Jim Murphy to vice president of morning programming.
The appointment of Murphy, who was senior executive producer of the news network’s New Day morning show, was announced Wednesday by CNN president Jeff Zucker during a morning editorial meeting.
Prior to CNN, Murphy was senior executive producer of ABC’s Good Morning America from 2006-11.
Murphy’s promotion follows the appointment last month of Javier Morgado to executive producer of New Day. Also Ted Winner was named senior broadcast producer for New Day and will move from Atlanta to New York.
