Casa at Home with New EdgeQAM

Jumping on the wave of switched-digital broadcast products, edge-device maker Casa Systems unveiled its new “EdgeQAM” device, which now supports these next-generation services.

Casa’s EdgeQAM can deliver as many as 64 channels of video to subscribers using an open-standards-based design in a one-rack-unit chassis.

It can simultaneously support switched digital, network digital-video recorder and other on-demand services, with companion “Global Session Resource Manager” software overseeing how those resources are shared. In that way, operators don’t have to buy added QAM modulators if usage of one service outpaces the others.
