Award Shows Top Nielsen Twitter Charts

Two awards shows topped the list of most social television shows airing Thursday.

Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Sports 2015 awards show attracted a unique audience of 1.9 million Twitter users to top the list of series and specials for Thursday, according to Nielsen’s Twitter TV ratings report.

Univision’s Premios Juventud 2015 awards show generated the most Tweets of any show Thursday with more than 773,000, according to the report. Syfy’s WWE SmackDown!, CBS’s Big Brother and Spike’s Lip Sync Battle rounded out the top five most social shows for the evening.

ESPN’s first round coverage of the 2015 Open Championship golf tournament was the most social sports telecast Thursday night, reaching more than 3 million unique Twitter users, according to Nielsen.
