ZUUS Joins Synacor’s Subscription Slate

Synacor, a provider of TV Everywhere and Web portal services, has struck a deal that will enable its pay-TV partners to offer premium curated music video channels from ZUUS Media, a firm started up by former Sony, Viacom and MTV execs.

Under a deal announced last Thursday (February 6), subscribers who get services via Synacor’s partners will have access to ZUUS’s 150 channels, which are curated by genre, decade, mood and artist.

ZUUS Media said it is contributing its full slate of new music videos as well as classics dating back to the 1970s, and original content that includes behind-the-scenes videos and artist interviews.

"We're excited to partner with Synacor and offer our expertly-curated music video entertainment to the millions of viewers across their vast network of sites," said Steve Goldstein, CEO and co-founder of ZUUS Media, in a statement.

"As part of our bundled content and apps offerings, we're excited to offer Synacor customers the ability to deliver the tremendous breadth and depth of ZUUS’s content library to their end-consumers and to ensure they get the most out of their online entertainment experience across all Synacor-powered screens,” added Synacor COO Scott Bailey.

Synacor’s service provider customers include Armstrong, BendBroadband, Buckeye CableSystem, Google Fiber, CenturyLink, Cable One, Charter Communications, Mediacom Communications, Suddenlink Communications, WideOpenWest, Surewest Communications and Verizon Communications, among others.
