The Weather Channel is gearing up its weekend coverage of Winter Storm Jonas as the powerful storm approaches the East Coast, network executives said Thursday.
The network is expected to devote 75 hours of live national coverage to its Winter Storm Jonas: A Special Report coverage from Thursday morning to Sunday afternoon, said network officials. The potentially dangerous storm is expected to drop heavy snow along with high winds and ice conditions across parts of at least 15 states beginning tonight through Sunday morning, according to the network.
The Weather Channel’s coverage, which began Thursday morning (Jan. 21], will feature reports from nine meteorologists across five cities including Jim Cantore, Mike Seidel and Dave Malkoff (Washington D.C.); Jen Carfagno and Raegan Medgie (Atlantic City); Stephanie Abrams and Sam Champion (New York City); Paul Goodloe (Charlotte) and Ron Blome (Memphis), said the network.
