WE tv Taps Marc Juris as President, GM

WE tv has tapped Marc Juris to be its next president and general manager. The former truTV executive vice president and COO replaces Kim Martin.

Juris' new job marks a homecoming of sorts. Before spending nearly a decade with TruTV and its predecessor Court TV, Juris held a number of positions with Rainbow Media, the forerunner to AMC Networks. There, he served as president of the national music channel Fuse, and also held posts as senior vice president of programming and later general manager of AMC, where he developed and implemented the channel’s strategic rebranding along with its transition to an ad-supported network.

Juris left TruTV in early May. Later that month, he was succeeded by former MTV executive Chris Linn.

“We’re glad to have Marc Juris back at the company,” said Ed Carroll, COO of AMC Networks. “Marc possesses a unique blend of programming and marketing expertise and has a proven track record of growing both brands and ratings.”

While at TruTV, Juris developed some of its most popular shows in Hardcore Pawn, Impractical Jokers and Storage Hunters. He lead the network to its best primetime performance last year.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to lead WE tv at this moment in its evolution, and to rejoin a company that played a major role in launching and shaping my career,” Juris said.

Earlier this month, AMC Networks announced that Martin, who had served as president and general manager of WE tv for nine years, will transition into an advisory role at AMC Networks, reporting to CEO Josh Sapan.
