WAPA Readies Season 2 of Health Reality Show

Puerto Rico's WAPA-TV on Jan. 29 will kick off the second
season of Transformacion Total, a
15-episode weekly reality series challenging contestants to change their
health, eating and lifestyle habits. The show first premiered in January of
2010.

Transformacion Total
features 18 participants from all parts of Puerto Rico, living together in a
house where they train, participate in classes, receive advice and must
overcome various challenges to become healthier.

Transformacion will
air simultaneously in the U.S. through WAPA America, the cable and satellite
superstation of WAPA-TV, currently available in 3.5 million U.S. homes.

A point system based not just on weight loss, but on emotional
changes and their performance in several challenges, will be used to determine
a final winner, who will receive $50,000 in cash at the end of the show.

For this second season, WAPA has signed on some big
sponsors, including Walgreens, Pfizer, Triple S, Goya, Subway, Supermercados
Amigo and Carbotrap. Hosting the program will be Puerto Rican actress Katiria
Soto, who will replace former Miss Universe Zuleika Rivera.

Separately, WAPA-TV reported that it was the highest-rated
broadcast station in Puerto Rico in 2010, beating both Univision and Telemundo's
stations in full-day and primetime viewing (6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Monday through Friday)
in households and all key demos, according to Nielsen.

Nielsen didn't begin to rate WAPA until last April.
