Vigoto is promoting a one-box, multiroom digital-video-recorder that would use existing coaxial cable in the home to transmit video throughout the residence.
Vice president of marketing Gil Litwinsky said cable operators can customize the “Vigo” box, but the basic offering would be a four- to five-tuner setup with a 140-gigabit hard drive.
A small, personal-digital-assistant-sized device called the “Vigo Link” would sit alongside a TV set in adjacent rooms. A subscriber would aim a remote at the Vigo Link and be connected to the main Vigo set-top via the home’s existing coaxial cable.
