For those who don’t remember Rod Stewart before he went totally mainstream, VH1 Classic will provide a fresh turn on the concept of Christmas past Thursday at 8 p.m.
The network will air a Stewart concert from Christmas Eve 1976, featuring Rod the Mod rockers’ “Losing You,” “Sweet Little Rock n’ Roller” and “Maggie May.”
The Rod Stewart Christmas Concert is part of archived British Broadcasting Corp. series Old Grey Whistle Test. The one-hour show was filmed at London’s Olympia Theatre almost 30 years ago.
