VH1 Again Enrolls In ‘Celebrity Rehab’

VH1 is bringing back Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew for another season.

VH1 will again team with Dr. Drew Pinsky for a sophomore run of the reality series that helps celebrities with their addictions in rehab. The network has ordered eight episodes from Irwin Entertainment, with the second season set to debut in October.

Like the first campaign, the second season will follow celebrity patients as they detoxify during a 21-day intensive program at a rehab center in the Los Angeles area.

The upcoming show will again include Jeff Conaway, who returns back to rehab for his addiction to pain relievers. Other celebrities perhaps en route to recovery include Rodney King, Nikki Mckibben (American Idol) and Steven Alder (Guns n’ Roses), while actor Gary Busey who has been sober for 13 years, will enlighten patients with stories from his recovery.

Pinksy has enlisted counselor Bob Forrest and resident technician Shelly Sprague to help him with his patients. VH1 officials said viewers can expect more patient-family interaction in season two, as family involvement encourages the celebrities to live a sober life.
