Veria TV Extends Wellness Content To Canada's One Channel

Veria TV is exporting an array of its wellness content north of the border.
New York-headquartered Veria TV, which counts carriage on Dish Network and Verizon FiOS in the U.S., has reached an agreement with Canada's One channel for up 250 hours of its natural and wellness fare. The licensing deal, terms of which were not disclosed, marks one of the largest content acquisitions by One, which is owned and operated by Toronto-based ZoomerMedia Ltd.
One, a body, mind and spirit service, counts some 1 million subs in Canada through affiliate deals with Bell TV, Cogeco, MTS, Rogers, Telus TV, Sasktel, Shaw Cable, Shaw Direct and VideoTron, according to network officials.
"Veria has an unparalleled television catalogue relating to ‘mind, body and spirit' and this agreement marks the beginning of ZoomerMedia's plans to re-energize ONE with new content and a refreshed look," said Mark Prasuhn, chief operating and content officer of ZoomerMedia Limited Television Division, in a statement. "Our goal is to establish One as the destination television station for all Canadians who desire to live better, live longer and more sustainably."

"Veria's relationship with One in Canada demonstrates our common passion to help improve the lives of viewers with entertaining, informative and positive lifestyle programming," noted Veria general manager Hal Rosenberg. "Moreover, this signals a revolutionary shift in the focus on natural health, personal growth and wellness, not just in U.S. and Canada but across the globe, and Veria looks forward to bringing fresh, cutting-edge entertainment and information about health and wellness to a new Canadian audience."
