Fox's coverage of the team USA's triumphant Women's World Cup tournament win Sunday posted a record 15.2/27 metered market household rating/share, according to Nielsen.
The telecast, in which the USA team defeated Japan for the title, surpassed the previous mark of 13.3 rating set by the 1999 USA-China Women's World Cup final, according to network officials.
The match rating was up 77% over the 8.6 rating recorded by ESPN for the USA vs. Japan Women’s World Cup final in 2011, according to Fox.
