Twisted Whiskers Looking for TV Home
By MCN Staff published
Hoping to extend a line that originated in drug stores, American Greetings Properties, in conjunction with Mike Young Productions and DQ Entertainment, wants to bring its Twisted Whiskers (http://www.twistedwhiskers.com) characters to the small screen.
Launched in 2001, the greeting-cards line featured a “twisted” bunch of cats and dogs that American Greetings said it was its fastest-selling group ever. The contorted pets were subsequently transformed into the merchandising realms of stationery, plush and automotive accessories.
After a strong response to the Twisted Whiskers computer-generated-imaging shorts posted online and in e-cards earlier this year, the aforementioned partners are teaming up to produce 26 half-hour episodes, each comprising four CGI segments.
The series will be distributed by Taffy Entertainment.
