TVGN and Banijay International have entered into an exclusive multiyear agreement under which the distributor will seek international placement for the cable network's new original series and entertainment programming.
The deal covers such first-run TVGN programming as Rock This Boat: New Kids On The Block, where viewers ride along with the band on a party cruise, The Sorrentinos, featuring former Jersey Shore cast member, Mike "The Situation," and The Story Behind, which looks at some of TV's greatest shows. Moreover, Banijay can sell 130 hours of TVGN catalogue fare, encompassing both in-house productions and third-party commissions.
TVGN is jointly owned by CBS Corp. and Lionsgate.
“Banijay International is a world class distributor that will expand the delivery and reach of our original programming on an international scale,” said David Wisnia, president of business operations at TVGN. “We’re pleased to partner with Banijay on bringing TVGN’s new and compelling programming slate to viewers throughout the world.”
Noted Karoline Spodsberg, managing director of Banijay: “The programming included in this deal will expand our growing finished tape catalogue with a raft of high quality programming that has strong international sales potential. We are delighted to be working with one of the fastest growing cable networks in the U.S. and look forward to launching TVGN’s new programming to our clients in the coming months.”
