TV Land and Nick at Nite will air a public-service announcement featuring TV legends urging viewers to contribute to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, the network said Thursday.
The 30-second spot -- which will air in heavy rotation on both networks beginning next week -- will feature actors including Carol Burnett, Bill Cosby, Tony Danza, Florence Henderson, Alyssa Milano, Mary Tyler Moore, Rob Reiner, Dick Van Dyke and Henry Winkler.
“In the wake of one of the most tragic events that this country has ever known, it’s heartwarming to see how eager these performers are to lend their voices to encourage support,” TV Land and Nick at Nite president Larry W. Jones said in a prepared statement. “It’s times like this that we realize what we all have in common -- humanity and a determination to care for those who need us.”
