TCA16: TV Land Orders Melissa McCarthy Pilot

Pasadena, CA – TV Land has ordered a comedy pilot executively produced by Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone, the network said Wednesday at the Television Critics Association press tour.

The network also announced it has picked up its Sutton Foster-starrer series 'Younger' for a third season.

The pilot, Nobodies, will follow actors Hugh Davidson, Larry Dorf and Rachel Ramras (Mike Tyson Mysteries), playing themselves as they try desperately to land one of their famous friends for a feature script, said network officials.

McCarthy and Falcone will direct the pilot and will also guest star – Falcone in the pilot, and McCarthy in a future episode should the pilot go to series, said the network.

“Hugh, Larry, and Rachel tell stories that are so funny, you honestly can’t believe they’re true,” said Keith Cox, Executive Vice President, Development and Original Programming, TV Land. “It’s their unique take on exactly what it’s like toiling away in Hollywood – and it is that unfiltered comedy that we’re looking for.”
