The Learning Channel is launching a sweepstakes based on its While You Were Out series.
Beginning Sept. 13, the Discovery Networks U.S. service and its affiliate partners will give viewers a shot at a $10,000 grand prize “to make an ordinary room in their home into the extraordinary space of their dreams,” the network said in a prepared statement.
TLC will run on-air spots encouraging consumers to visit local sponsors, where they will get scratch-off game cards for the chance to instantly win the grand prize or one of 500 secondary prizes -- $25 gift certificates to The Discovery Channel Store or Discovery Channel Store online at Discovery.com (www.discovery.com).
For the chance to win weekend getaways, consumers can enter online or via mail through the instant-win game pieces and printed materials at participating local retailers.
“We’re leveraging the popularity and excitement of one of TLC’s hottest series, While You Were Out,into a compelling promotional opportunity designed to build our affiliate partners’ business on a market level,” Discovery Networks director of integrated marketing, affiliate sales and marketing Danielle Mercurio said in a prepared statement.
“With the ‘Win While You’re Out Sweepstakes,’we’re translating the emotion, surprise and nail-biting suspense of homeowners featured in the series to this exciting instant-win opportunity for consumers, as well as an effective traffic- and sales-driving program for our distribution partners and their advertisers,” she added.
