Time Warner Cable Taps CALEA Vendor
By Matt Stump published
Fiducianet Inc. said Time Warner Cable has contracted it to provide technical assistance in support of certain law-enforcement requirements relating to its digital-phone rollouts, as part of meeting its CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies) obligations.
The deal also means Fiducianet will help the MSO in the processing of subpoenas and court orders for record production relating to its voice-over-Internet-protocol business.
Cable operators launching voice service must comply with new federal regulations relating to homeland-security monitoring.
"Fiducianet's service allows us to meet an important part of those responsibilities in a cost-effective manner," chief operating officer John Billock said in a prepared statement.
