Time Warner Cable SportsChannel Inks Mulityear TV Deal with Columbus Crew
Time WarnerCable SportsChannel has netted a multiyear TV pact with Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew.
The deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, enables Time Warner Cable SportsChannel to present 33 of the Crew’s 34 2014 MLS regular-season contests (the May 4 match at Sporting Kansas City is on NBC Sports Network). Coverage kicks off on March 8 at 7 p.m. (ET), when the club travels to RFK Stadium to take on D.C. United.
Crew contests were previously televised by Fox Sports Ohio.
Dwight Burgess, back for his 19th season as the voice of the Crew, will provide play-by-play calls for Time Warner Cable SportsChannel’s coverage. Burgess is teaming with Chris Doran, back for his second season with the Black & Gold as a television analyst after joining the club’s on-air team last June.
