G4 president Neal Tiles has inked a three-year renewal pact with Comcast Entertainment Group.
Under Tiles's tutelage, G4 has emerged as TV's destination for young guys with a passion for gaming, technology, animation, interactivity and "geek culture."
Deal terms were not disclosed. Tiles will continue to report to Ted Harbert, president & CEO, Comcast Entertainment Group, whose contract was extended earlier this year.
"Neal has done an extraordinary job delivering tremendous growth and developing cutting-edge programming that resonates with young guys," said Harbert in a statement. "He has taken G4 to the next level as the television home for today's digital generation and I'm thrilled to have him at the helm for three more years."
During Q1, G4 posted its most-watched quarter in the network's history, as well as 13% rise among its target demo, guys 18 to 34. The performance follows continued gains in 2009, G4's seventh consecutive year of viewership growth, according to network officials.
Tiles oversees G4'sprogramming, including Attack of the Show, X-Play, Web Soup, Ninja Warrior, Campus PD and Human Wrecking Balls, as well as the network's extensive live event coverage at CES, Comic-Con, E3, Tokyo Game Show and PAX.
Additionally, Tiles leads the network's Web site G4tv.com, which shifted its strategy in 2009 to become focused on gaming, bringing users complete and total access into the world of video games. G4tv.com delivered 2.7 million unique visitors in March, clicking double-digit growth in all key metrics over the prior year.
Prior to joining G4, Tiles was executive vice president of marketing for DirecTV, Inc. His career also included a stint as executive vice president, Fox Sports Marketing Group.
