Tennis Channel's Hopman Cup Coverage Begins Dec. 30

Tennis Channel will toss up the first serve on its coverage of the Hyundai Hopman Cup on Monday.

The dedicated racquet sports service will present the international mixed-doubles tournament, beginning on Dec. 30 at 8:30 a.m. (ET) with Poland squaring off against Canada.  All Hopman Cup matches will take place at the Perth Arena in Australia, Dec. 28-Jan. 4.

The United States leads all nations in Hopman Cup titles, claiming its sixth crown in 2011. This year’s mixed-doubles team comprises Davis Cup regular and the top-ranked American male John Isner, competing for his fourth time, and 2013 Australian Open semifinalist Sloane Stephens, who will be making her Hopman Cup debut.

The Americans’ first challenge comes versus Spain’s Tommy Robredo and Anabel Medina Garrigues at 8 p.m. on Dec. 30.

Among the top competitors in this year’s tourney: Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska, Canada’s Milos Raonic, Italy’s Flavia Pennetta and Australia’s Bernard Tomic.
