Telemundo’s coverage of the first leg of the Liga MX championship scored the largest audience for the circuit in the U.S. during 2013.
Deportes Telemundo’s Dec. 12 telecast of Leon’s 2-0 win over Club America averaged 2.8 million viewers, according to Nielsen data, a total that included 1.7 million persons 18 to 49.
The match, in which Leon moved closer to its first Mexican title in 21 years by defeating the defending champion, reached 4.7 million who watched some portion or all of the match, including 2.7 million in the aforementioned demo.
Univision and Univision Deportes will simulcast the Dec. 15 finale live at 6:50 p.m. (ET).
