TechTV will use Scientific-Atlanta Inc.’s "PowerVu" digital-content-distribution system for its analog-to-digital migration for programming delivery to cable headends, S-A said Wednesday.
The new PowerVu digital-uplink system, located in San Francisco, is scheduled to begin digital transmissions in April, the vendor added.
"When you look at the digital-compression landscape, Scientific-Atlanta's PowerVu content-distribution system is widely used and well-respected for its reliability and performance," TechTV vice president of engineering and operations David Seedall said in a prepared statement.
