TCA17: Investigation Discovery Signs Maria Elena Salinas To Host Magazine Show

Pasadena -- Investigation Discovery has signed investigative journalist Maria Elena Salinas to host a new magazine show to debut later this year.

The 10-part series, The Real Story With Maria Elena Salinas, will examine national headline-making crimes for new evidence and interviews that could shed more light on the incidents, according to network officials.

Salinas, who will host the show, will also continue to co-anchor Univision’s network newscast, Noticiero Univision, and its weekly primetime newsmagazine Aquí y Ahora (Here and Now), said the network.

“ID is thrilled to welcome Maria Elena Salinas into the fold at ID, joining our growing roster of investigative journalists, from Paula Zahn, to Chris Hansen, to Tamron Hall, to Tony Harris,” said Henry Schleiff, Group President, Investigation Discovery, American Heroes Channel and Destination America in a statement. “Maria Elena has become a, deservedly, trusted and articulate voice for Hispanic Americans at Univision – and, accordingly, we know ID’s fans will welcome her passion for finding the truth behind every crime because, as she well notes, ‘no story is as it seems.’”

In other ID TCA news, the network on March 5 will launch a two-part documentary Killing Richard Glossip, revolving around a 20-year death penalty murder case in Oklahoma City.
