TBS Renews ‘People Of Earth;' ‘Search Party’

TBS has renewed its freshman scripted comedies People Of Earth and Search Party for sophomore campaigns, the network said Tuesday.

People Of Earth, which is averaging 4.3 million viewers across all platforms, and Search Party, which aired all 10 of its episodes across the Thanksgiving week, will receive a 10-episode second season, according to network officials.

With the renewals, TBS will now return all six of its 2016 scripted comedies in 2017, said the network.

“Twelve months ago we set out to reimagine the TBS brand and its place in the TV landscape. To end 2016 with all six shows returning is humbling,” said Brett Weitz, executive vice president of original programming for TBS in a statement. "The amazing teams behind People of Earth and Search Party have created complex, funny characters and crafted truly distinctive stories. Renewing both shows is the perfect end to a transformative year for TBS."
