Syfy Re-Ups `Eureka'

Syfy has greenlit a fifth season of its original dramedy series Eureka, the network announced Tuesday.

The series, which stars Collin Ferguson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Joe Morton, Erica Cerra, Neil Grayston as inhabitants of a secret community of geniuses in the Pacific Northwest, is currently averaging a 2.2 household rating for its fourth season and more than 3 million viewers with Nielsen live +7 data factored in, said network officials.

"Eureka remains a steadfast performer for Syfy with its superb cast and perfect blend of drama, comedy and eye candy," said Mark Stern, executive vice president of original programming for Syfy and co-head of content for Universal Cable Productions. "Given what (executive producers Jaime Paglia and Bruce Miller) and their entire team have done collectively to reinvent the show this year, we can't wait to see what's in store for season five."
