Syfy Developing Superman Prequel

Syfy will team with Warner Horizon Television to develop a Superman prequel series, the network said Monday.

The one-hour Krypton series will explore the years before the birth of Superman, and follows The Man of Steel's grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, said network officials.

The announcement follows on the heels of Fox’s successful series Gotham, which takes place years before the appearance of the Batman legend.

David S. Goyer (Constantine, Da Vinci’s Demons, Man of Steel, The Dark Knight trilogy) will serve as executive producer of the series along with Ian Goldberg (Once Upon a Time, FlashForward) for Warner Horizon Television, said network officials.
