Starz Entertainment Group LLC is Looking for Stars.
The programmer Thursday announced a national casting call to find a new talent to cast in a speaking role in an upcoming Revolution Studios major motion picture.
And Starz original series Looking for Stars will document the contestants’ journey from their first auditions through the winner’s appearance in the film.
Applications will be available online (www.starz.com/appmanager/seg/s?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=template&template_dir=/features/lookingforstars/&template_file=content.html) through Feb. 21, and selected applicants will be asked to participate in one of four auditions. In March and April, a team of industry professionals will judge these applicants during the auditions held in New York; Las Vegas; Orlando, Fla.; and Kansas City, Kan.
Two finalists from each city will be flown to Los Angeles for the final audition in front of a panel of industry veterans, and the grand-prize winner will receive a trip to the set of the Revolution picture and a speaking role.
“Our partnership with Revolution Studios allows us to inspire and encourage undiscovered talent across the nation with real prospects for a shot at appearing in a major motion picture,” Starz Entertainment senior vice president of channel management David Charmatz said in a prepared statement. “Looking for Stars will bring to life the drama that’s part of what it takes to pursue a showbiz career.”
