Starz To Air Sequel To 'The Missing'

Starz will air a sequel to its limited series The Missing, the network said Tuesday.

The eight-part second season of the Golden Globe nominated limited series will follow a new case with new characters and new location, said Starz. Harry and Jack Williams will again pen the series for Starz.

The first season of The Missing, currently airing on Starz, focuses on the search for a missing five-year old. The final episode of the current season will air Jan. 10.

The series garnered two Golden Globe nominations including one for best mini-series or motion picture made for television.

“The remarkably talented Williams brothers crafted a beautifully complex and heart wrenching story with ‘The Missing’ and while the story, character and locations will be different in this new iteration, we anticipate the same captivating long-form storytelling and character development that critics and viewers have responded so well to,” said Starz Managing Director Carmi Zlotnik in a statement. “We have been thrilled with the critical response and look forward to continuing our terrific collaboration with the BBC, New Pictures and Playground Entertainment.”
