Sorpresa Partners With Mega TV for Kids Block

Sorpresa the Juniper Content-owned children network, this month began airing a branded kids block on Mega TV, expanding its audience by more than 1 million Hispanic satellite subscribers through DirecTV Más. The block, which premiered February 7, extend a similar partnership Sorpresa had earlier with Mega TV in Puerto Rico.

"We give [Mega TV] the block already packaged but it is branded as Sorpresa en Mega," said María Badillo, Sorpresa vice president of programming.

The one and a half hour block airs Saturdays and Sundays at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT and includes shows like Cubeez, Bali, Zumbers, Boom and Reds, among others. Financial details of the one-year agreement were not disclosed.

The deal adds an additional 1 million viewers to Sorpresa, which already has 1.1 million cable subscribers on Comcast, Cablevision, Charter Communications, Cox Communications, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS, participating National Cable TV Cooperative systems and in Puerto Rico on Liberty Cable Systems, Choice Cable and OneLink.
