Scripps Taps Youngblood As SVP, Home Category Initiatives

Chad Youngblood will assume new duties as senior vice president of home category initiatives across an array of Scripps Networks Interactive properties, starting June 1.

In this new position, Youngblood, who has been serving as general manager of Fine Living Network, which will be converted into Cooking Channel on May 31, has assignments cutting across the various platforms and brands in the home category encompassing HGTV, DIY Network and their associated Web sites.

"Chad will put his energy and insight to work on helping expand Scripps Networks' dominance in the home category, an area that we believe has tremendous long-term growth potential," said Burton Jablin, president of the home category, in a statement.
Youngblood joined Scripps in 2000 as a writer/producer for HGTV, for which he later served as vice president of on-air promotion. In 2004, he played a critical role on the team responsible for refreshing HGTV's on-air image and evolving the brand identity into a more engaging and entertaining lifestyle network.
Youngblood joined the programmer after working as a writer/producer for KGO-TV in San Francisco, and spending 10 years in local market television in Reno, Nev. and San Jose, Calif.
