Scripps Taps White as VP Program Development, Production for HGTV, DIY

Scripps Networks Interactive has elevated Courtney White to vice president of program development and production for HGTV and sister service DIY Network.
In this new role, White is responsible for expanding the program development efforts for both networks and will report to Freddy James, senior vice president, program development and production in New York.
White had been serving as director of development for HGTV, where she helped launch many long-running series including Color Splash, My First Place and Selling New York. She also created numerous series and specials, including top-rated Selling Spelling Manor, Home by Novogratz, Junk Gypsies and the upcoming series Scoring the Deal and Hawaii Life, since her role expanded to include program production last year.
White has more than a decade of experience as a producer and writer. Prior to joining HGTV in 2005, she served as director of development and senior producer at Working Dog Productions where she developed several series and specials for HBO, National Geographic Channel, Court TV and History.
White's credits include HBO's Emmy-winning Through a Child's Eyes: September 11, 2001 and the DGA Award winning ‘Twas the Night, also for the premium service. She wrote and produced a dozen hours of A&E Biography, produced the Plagues series for National Geographic and co-produced PBS's John Gardner: Uncommon American. In addition, White produced the feature comedy May the Best Man Win, starring Horatio Sanz, Rob Riggle and Matt Walsh for IFC.
