Schroder Takes Lifetime’s Strong Medicine
Lifetime Television medical drama Strong Medicine will add a Golden Globe winner to its arsenal.
Rick Schroder -- who portrayed a New York detective in Emmy Award-winning series NYPD Blue -- will join the cast for the series’ sixth season in June, the network said Thursday.
On Strong Medicine, Schroder will play a new doctor and the first male physician to run the Rittenhouse Women’s HealthCenter along with Dr. Luisa Delgado, played by Rosa Blasi.
Season No. 5 of Strong Medicine averaged nearly 2.3 million total viewers in its time slot Sundays at 9 p.m., Lifetime said.
“Rick’s diverse talent and experience adds a wonderful new dimension by presenting and seeing women’s-health issues through a man’s eyes,” Lifetime Entertainment Services executive vice president and general manager Rick Haskins said in a prepared statement. “Strong Medicine continues to address today’s cutting-edge health issues.”
