'Samurai Jack' Returning to Adult Swim

Adult Swim today that new episodes of classic animated series Samurai Jack, from producer Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter's Laboratory) are in the works at Cartoon Network Studios in Los Angeles and will debut on Adult Swim's Toonami block in 2016.

The announcement -- via a 5-second video on YouTube -- is racking up views and comments. Samurai Jack also became a top trend on Twitter.

The ornately animated show, about a Japanese warrior who was transported into the future where he continued to battle his wizard foe, Aku, debuted in August 2001. It ran for 52 episodes before ending, after four seasons, in 2004, according to reports and Wikipedia.
