S3 Group Touts Revenue Growth
S3 Group is privately held, but some of its numbers are apparently good enough for the company to offer a glimpse of its financial performance. .
S3 Group, a company that specializes in testing and integration, isn’t providing precise figures, but announced Monday that the company’s TV Technology revenues rose 25 percent year-on-year, thanks to a mix of new rollouts, demand for multiscreen services, and a number of “significant" multi-year managed service agreements.
Of recent note, S3 was tapped to oversee the code management function of RDK Development LLC, the joint venture of Comcast and Time Warner Cable that is now charged with stewarding the Reference Design Kit, the pre-integrated software bundle for IP and hybrid IP/QAM set-tops and gateways.
The company said its StormTest multiscreen test automation platform secured new Tier-1 video service provider customers. S3 cited Astro, BskyB, UPC Cablecom, Sky Deutschland, and Tele Columbus among new customers and contract expansions sealed up during 2013.
