The Retirement Living TV network has hired Betsy Brightman as VP of affiliate relations and distribution, responsible for carriage deals and new media development at the channel.
She had been consulting for the network, bankrolled by Erickson Retirement Communities chairman John Erickson and aiming at people ages 55 and up. It’s acquired part-time carriage on DirecTV and on Comcast’s CN8 channel so far.
A past president of the Philadelphia chapter of Women in Cable Telecommunications, Brightman worked at Gemstar TV Guide since 1987, including roles as VP and general manager of the cable and satellite magazine division and senior VP of sales operations. She came to Gemstar from TVSM Inc.’s Total TV listings magazine, which Gemstar acquired.
