Researcher Marans Moves To AETN

Nielsen IAG executive David Marans is joining the AETN team.
Marans, who served as executive vice president at Nielsen IAG since 2005, has been named senior vice president of research and insights at AETN. Reporting to AETN executive vice president Mel Berning, Marans will oversee AETN programming and ad sales research efforts across all brands, including A&E Network, History, Biography, History International and Crime & Investigation Network.
Marans began his career at Y&R and later J. Walter Thompson where he rose to senior vice president. In 2000, Marans assumed the same position when Mindshare was created.
"David is one of the smartest and most innovative research experts working in media and I am delighted he is joining the AETN team," said Berning in a statement. "David will be a tremendous asset in helping us capitalize on the huge ratings growth that the AETN brands have experienced over the last few years. He will create tremendous value for us and our advertisers with his broad experience in all phases of solution-selling and creative research insights."
