Radiant Cofounder Mike Thaw Dies at 61

Radiant Communications cofounder and president Mike Thaw died suddenly of a heart attack Christmas Eve at the age of 61.

He launched the fiber-optic-products vendor Jan. 19, 1985, with his brother, chairman Gene Thaw, who has assumed Mike’s responsibilities within the company.

Mike Thaw was also a longtime member of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers.

“Through Mike Thaw’s vision and determination, Radiant grew to become a premier manufacturer producing the industry’s largest selection of fiber-optic products,” Radiant national sales manager Lou Nagorsky said in a prepared statement.

“The Radiant Communications team is dedicated to continuing the success of the company in his honor,” he added.
