QVC announced that Al Ulozas, senior vice president of affiliate sales and marketing, will retire next month and will be succeeded by Dave Apostolico, currently vice president of affiliate sales and marketing.
Ulozas, who started at QVC in 1987, has headed affiliate sales and marketing for the shopping network since 1999.
"We are going to miss Al's leadership, knowledge and vision," QVC U.S. CEO Claire Watts said in a statement. "His contributions to QVC extend beyond his many business accomplishments; with his sense of fairness, integrity, and humor, he has also helped shape QVC's culture and built many lasting friendships throughout our industry. We wish Al the warmest congratulations on a great career with QVC."
Apostolico will assume his new role effective May 1, reporting to Angie Simmons, QVC's executive vice president of multichannel platforms. He will be charged with increasing QVC's program distribution throughout the country with key affiliates, as well as developing strategic affiliate and trade marketing activities and negotiating carriage and channel positions for the cable retailer.
Apostolico joined QVC in 1996 as associate counsel and subsequently was promoted to senior counsel, and he also has worked on a number of transactions and negotiations, including those concerning the company's distribution centers in Rocky Mount, N.C., and Florence, S.C.
In addition, QVC promoted Andy Cellucci, an 18-year company veteran, to vice president of affiliate sales and marketing effective May 1, reporting to Apostolico. He will be responsible for contract negotiations, strategizing QVC's digital plans and new carriage opportunities, and directing the activities of a nationwide account management team. Most recently, he oversaw enhancements to QVC's affiliate distributor commission processes in Germany.
West Chester, Pa.-based QVC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Liberty Media attributed to the Liberty Interactive Group, is distributed to approximately 195 million homes worldwide.
