'Power of Destiny' Finale Powers Univision To Top Of Broadcast on Dec. 26

The finale of La Fuerza del Destino (The Power of Destiny) helped Univision win Monday night among broadcast networks.
The novela's two-hour conclusion averaged 6.2 million watchers from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., while a special episode of Don Francisco Presenta (Don Francisco Presents), which delivered an average audience of over 3.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen data. The combination led to a first-place finish among all broadcast networks, which were largely in rerun mode, regardless of language on Dec. 26 night across all key demographics. ESPN's Monday Night Football concluder between the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons likely won the TV night overall. Data was not available at presstime.
La Fuerza del Destino also scored with 3.4 million persons 18 to 49, 1.9 million and 1.6 million of females and males of that age, respectively. Moreover, it drew 2 million persons 18 to 34, 1 million women and 963,000 guys of that age.
The No. 1 program on broadcast television on Monday night among persons 18-49, persons 18-34, males 18 to 49 and females 18-49, the finale of La Fuerza del Destino also ranks as the most-watched telecast in the novela's full-run across key demographics.

This marks the 40th night Univision has ranked as the No. 1 broadcast network among persons 18 to 49 - an 11% increase from 2010. Monday night's novela finale also marks the 91st night Univision has ranked as the No. 1 broadcast network among persons 18 to 34, up 12% from last year.
