The Writers Guild of America has gotten actors and children on their picket line, but Friday in the west it's time for elected officials, including U.S. Senator and presidential contender John Edwards, to show their support for the striking scribes.
According to the union, Edwards will join the strikers outside the NBC Entertainment complex in Burbank at 2 p.m. (PT).
California and Los Angeles elected officials will join the strike line at CBS Television City in Los Angeles at noon, said the union. Politico participants are expected to include state Sen. Ron Calderon (D-Montebello) and Assembly members Felipe Fuentes (D-San Fernando), Mike Davis (D-Los Angeles) and Fiona Ma (D-San Francisco).
Members of the Los Angeles City Council are also expected to picket, according to the union.
